To be honest, I didn’t discover that many books on my own. I have to thank my darling for always looking around and showed me what could be interesting for me LOL Isn’t he adorable ? ❤ The Necromancer and Jackaby were his findings and gosh.. they look amazing. GO read that blurb y’all! (Just click on the pictures). I got the chance to discover Room thanks to the movie adaptation! As for The Painted Bird and The Door, they are two of the darkest and interesting books that I discovered so far.

Lashaan’s Top 5 Discoveries

Requiem for a Dream The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America Brave New Worlds Batman: Night Cries Night Film

I discovered so many books… then again, it’s all I do every single day. These are some of the best books I’ve added in my TBR this month, and the one that really caught my attention of all of them is The Devil in the White City. This book was randomly left in the wrong section of our bookstore until I laid my eyes on it. I instantly added to my TBR. A week later, after browsing IMDB for movies and checking out Leonardo Di Caprio’s future movies, I fell on this miraculous coincidence. Leo was to star in a movie adaptation of that very book and, to put the cherry on top, Martin Scorsese is to direct it—if if wasn’t already obvious, I’m a HUGE fan of both these dudes. Thank God for these amazing coincidences, or maybe… this destiny! 😉

Bookidote’s Cinema Discoveries

Trang’s List

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (Oh hell yess!!<3 Rae is bae)

Cartel Land (Best Documentary so far)

The Revenant (I slept while watching the movie.. Couldn’t help it LOL so sorry D:)

Room (Looks intensely good)

Kung Fu Panda 3 (Animated movies will always be my weakness :D)

The Man in the High Castle (Tv Show) (Lashaan showed this to me!)

Jekyll and Hyde (Tv Show) (Omg an adaptation for the classic? YES)

Lashaan’s List

Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (Entertainment value was there!)

Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (The big plot twist + Yodaaaa! :D)

Ip Man 2 (The first one was far better..far..far..better.)

The Revenant (Best movie I’ve watched this month)

Cartel Land (Amazing documentary on cartels)

Luther (TV Show) (Not too shabby, acting wise)

Legends of Tomorrow (TV Show) (Basically a gang of comedians, still pretty fun though)

Trang’s Favorite Discovery

Lashaan introduced me to this masterpiece a while ago hihi. And I decided to try it out this month and my god.. it is gorgeous. Netflix never disappoints, that’s for sure. The acting is strong in this one and so is the suspense. Never thought I’d be so hooked and addicted ! AND THE INTRO..I’M OBSESSED WITH THAT INTRO.

Lashaan’s Favorite Discovery

Now if you’re not pumped for this, then buddy… You’ve got some serious problems. This trailer is probably the most perfect masterpiece to have ever hit the world from behind. An instant stunner. An ingenious plan. The choice of song, the spotlight moments (Jared Leto owned every single milliseconds), the montage. I just can’t wait for this movie; more than Batz vs. Supz too, that one is either going to blow the box office away or flunk.

Thank you all for checking out our monthly wrap-up and don’t forget to check out any posts that might interest you and that you might have missed out on!

So what’s going on on all of your minds? What have discovered this month? What are your thoughts on the books/TV shows/movies we’ve mentioned? Are you excited for February? Cause we sure as hell are ! 😀

Yours truly,

Lashaan & Trang

I read Room a few years ago when it had first cone out. I thought that was quite a harrowing take. I haven’t seen the movie yet so I don’t know how well it portrays the book. When I read the book first and see the movie later, I tend to get disappointed. However, this wasn’t the case when I saw Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. The original books were all good. The series of books from which the movies were based were interesting, but the movies did a good job in summarizing most of their respective stories.

Couldn’t agree more with you! Hahaha I’ve been disappointed by so many movies huh especially the YA novels turned into movies.I’m telling myself that I would rather watch the movie first and read the book.. but then again, I’m going to get major spoilers LOL. OhhDilemma. Room, however, looks really good, both in movies and book :O So I can’t wait to read and watch it ! – Trang

So glad that you say so ! I’m happy that the wrap-up gives people another chance at checking out anything they might have missed out/interested them. Thank you, my comic haul would be so much more intense if my time wasn’t so restrained (and money too, of course XD) I’ve read a lot of the New 52 content, I’m stacking it up for now and I’m going to gradually put them on Bookidote soon enough 😀 Thanks for checking out again Stephan, glad to hear from you again!
