You know time flies when a whole year of blogging just goes by without you ever noticing it. That’s right. Today marks Bookidote’s second anniversary. Who would have thought? We sure as hell did! Blogging has become such a huge extension of our lives, it is impossible to think what it would be like giving up on such a creative outlet, on such a formidable source of bookish pleasure and on such a fantastic bookworm community.
For this special edition, we decided to pick our top 5 book reviews that we love π It also happens to be some of our favourite books LOL
To see the review, simply click on the book’s picture π
Every single one of you who took the time to leave their thoughts and simply talk to us are truly amazing. We absolutely love every single one of you guys who took the time to read what we want to share and will always be grateful for the littlest word you wish to share with us as well. After all, if there’s something that books have taught us it’s that every single word is as precious as diamond. The mere weight and impact that a word can have on us is phenomenal and whenever you guys have something to say, we’re always so very happy and thankful that such a community exists! A community where there is no prejudice or hate but only a desire to regroup under a same passion: literature.
Thank you all for being so awesome and for sticking around for another year with Bookidote! Here’s to countless more blogging fun! Even if we have not met yet, hopefully the days to come will only bring us to discover each other and make our interactions as fun as possible! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING! WE LOVE YOU!
-TRANG & LASHAAN
Happy Blogoversary and I hope Bookidote brings us more fun in the future<3

Oh wow congratulations on another year blogiversary Lashaan and Trang! It’s amazing you’ve been around for so long, then again I’m approaching my two year blogiversary and it doesn’t feel like a long time at all so I guess it must feel the same way for both of you as well right?
I haven’t read any of the books on your favourites list Lashaan, but I feel like I remember reading your review for The Killing Joke. Trang I loved The Night Circus and Illuminae, they’re two of my favourite books as well so I loved seeing them on your list too. π
Again congrats on reaching your two year blogiversary, here’s hoping your third year will be just as amazing as the last two have been! π β€

Thank you, good sir! I appreciate that. Out of curiosity, have you ever tried Scott Lynch’s series? I’m curious know what’s your take on it. π

I have not tried him. I’ve stayed away from his Gentleman Bastard books because the reviews I’ve read ALL mention the copious amounts of profanity. That type of thing does bother me…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hm… copious amounts… I know profanity was definitely present, but I don’t think I was personally overwhelmed by it or felt like it was “too much”. Ehh, hopefully someday you’ll find yourself in front of a free copy/library copy/sampler to test out the first 50 pages to see if it’s really that bad.

WOW TWO YEARS and seems daunting to me as I’m just at the start of my blogging journey! Well, CONGRATS! And its good to see more people loving The Night Circus, it’s a wonderful book and one of my favourites. Everyone says that The Killing Joke is one of the best joker comics so I don’t know why I haven’t read it yet….better fix that!

Oh my!! Don’t let that stress you out. If you blog because you enjoy it, you’ll see time fly by like never before. π You just.. HAVE to check The Killing Joke. Anyone can pick it up as long as they know who Batman and Joker are. Maybe also who Jim and Barbara are would set you up for one of the best graphic novels of all time! π Thank you so much for leaving such a sweet comment!!! π

Oh man, I’d be pretty mad myself. It’s why I prefer reading it in the original language (which.. pretty much limits it to English or French for me). Hope it won’t ruin too much of the book for you!! π

I try to ignore as much as I can haha English and Spanish for me haha I am planning on learning either German or French haha
But, I like the book even with the written horrors XD
