BEST BOOK OF THE MONTH
Trang:
Best poetry novel of all time ❤ You can read my review here.
Lashaan:
Batman: Under the Red Hood is one of the those classic stories in Batman’s lore and I’m so glad to have finally read it. Judd Winick does an exceptional job at developing the Red Hood and his gore-filled methods. This is one hell of a thriller!
BEST MOVIES/SHOWS OF THE MONTH
Trang: I don’t think its obvious that I wrote Blade Runner post along with Stranger Things LOL that’s how amazing they were. Recently watched The Americans and The Handmaid’s Tale 🙂
Lashaan:
I’ve seen a couple movies this month, but man I just got to highlight Blade Runner 2049 as well as Mindhunter and Stranger Things 2 as the best things this month! If you haven’t started these shows or haven’t seen that movie yet, you’re missing out! 😉

PERSONAL LIVES
Trang:
October was such a crazy month! Turned 23 , done with all the midterms finallyy and get to celebrate Halloween as Elektra ;D A lot of opportunities were offered to me in the book blogging world and I look forward to show you guys even more content next year 😀 Here’s a lil pic of me as Elektra, HAPPY HALLOWEEN !
Lashaan:
Reflecting upon the month that just went by always makes me realize how we go through every month super quick, even if it seemed like it was going to be hell just to survive the first couple of days. Turns out it wasn’t so bad and even successfully survived some great challenges. You just got to know how to relish in those moments where you take on a task and deliver your best. Otherwise, how are you going to learn and move forward, right? This month was also welcomed with the premiere of so many shows for which I have been waiting anxiously for their release; although a lot of them are guilty pleasures (The Walking Dead, DC TV shows, etc.). Now it’s time to go through the before-last month of the year! 2018 is so close, I can almost touch it!
Thank you all for checking out our monthly wrap-up and don’t forget to check out any posts that might interest you and that you might have missed out on!
So what’s going on with y’all? What have you discovered this month? What are your thoughts on the books/TV shows/movies we’ve mentioned?
Yours truly,

Nice costume Trang! I really liked the version of Elektra in Miller’s “Daredevil: The Man without Fear” graphic novel.
Lashaan: Are we going to get a review of “Under the Red Hood”? I’d be interested in it anyway…

Definitely! It would also shed some light on a story arc that the DCEU movies MIGHT, just MAYBE, adapt and bring to life. I’d be psyched to see it happen, even if it’s not completely true to the source material.
I’m also currently reading The Death of Superman and plan on going through the two other volumes that lead to… well.. the Return of Superman! Preparing myself for #JusticeLeague ! 😀

That would a nice post! It would probably push me to read it and review it myself. I own it and have read it, but I don’t know if I ever reviewed it and I know I haven’t read it in the last decade.

I know that feeling… It took me a new movie adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic for me to finally read her book after all. 😀

I haven’t read Murder on the Orient Express either. But I’m planning on doing it very soon.

Awesome costume, Trang, and happy belated birthday!!
I hope things get better for you, Lashaan, and awesome to see you about to read Murder on the Orient Express. It’s the first and only Agatha Christie book I’ve read and it was pretty good. Hope November is great to both of y’all.

I’ll soon be in the same shoes as you then hahah I’m reading it now to time it with the latest movie adaptation coming out for it. I’ve always wanted to read her books though. Might not be my last. 😛 Have a great November yourself, Zezee!

I’ve read almost all of Agatha Chrisitie’s books with Jane Marple and Hercule Poirot and another one. So long ago though. She’s so good!

Swear! 😮 Since high school I’ve heard of Agatha Christie and her exploits, especially the great Hercule Poirot. I was more inclined to be a Sherlock Holmes fanboy though, so I never tried to extend my knowledge by reading on Poirot. But I did grow a desire to want to find out what he was all about, and yet here I am with still no books read about him. I did see some random episodes with him, and also the classic movie of the Murder on the Orient Express. Should be a good time to finally see what her writing style is like! Do you remember what your favourites of Christie were?

That’s like asking me what our Christmas dinner menu was on Dec. 25, 1935. Of course I wasn’t born then but you get the idea, although And Then There Were None is definitely one of the standouts for me.

Oh, with your expert cooking skills, I’m sure you remember all your meals. 🙂 I assumed you were an immortal creature with a talent for writing anyways.
That will be the 2nd Christie book I’ll check out for sure.

Another fabulous month for you both and Bookidote ❤ I always love our interaction and your reviews and posts! Something for me to look forward to each time I log in. I only regret having been offline so much. Love the Elektra pic Trang! And thanks for ensuring my Netflix and film queue always rival my TBR Lashaan 😉 I am planning to start Mindhunter this week. I have to wait on Stranger Things and TWD until the nonhubs returns. Happy November to you both!

Haha superglue. I do get to keep him home for a week, but now he is so tired that he cannot stay awake for a single episode. So I binged Mindhunter haha 😉

Soooo up to par. So I started it on Friday and finished it on Saturday if that tells you anything haha 😉 I was seriously carrying my tablet around while cooking, doing laundry, etc. I cracked out bad! Didn’t you find the gentleman who played Ed Kemper soooo disturbing?

Absolutely!!! He looked like the real deal too. I loved how they filmed his scenes too. It would focus on him and slowly approach on him at moments in such an indistinguishable rate just to make it that much more freaky when he starts to unveil his twisted mind! Loved the chemistry between our two FBI boyz too!!!

Yes!!! And that ending.. OMG. Of course, I will not divulge it here, but whooooweeee.

You both got through some great books this month, and it seems like you had a great October too so hopefully November is even better for you both. Trang I love your Electra costume, I’m a little late now but I hope you both had a great Halloween, it seems like something you celebrate more than I do over in the UK. 🙂
Also I really need to start watching Stranger Things. I’ve heard so many incredible things about it there are just so many TV shows still on my to-watch list! 🙂
Great post. 😀

Love the costume, Trang! Elektra is one of my favorite female action icon! You look pretty good in that costume! As for the movies, I loved Blade Runner 2049! Currently, I’m pretty excited for Blade Of The Immortal! I’m a total sucker for Japanese live action movies especially the samurai ones.
Anyways, I hope you guys have an amazing November! 🙂

Oh man, I highly recommend it to you too! I think you’ll enjoy the criminal psychology they explore. It does a pretty nice job in reflecting the evolution in the “science”, while making it cinematographically entertaining for viewers!
Man… déjà-vu! Every month feels like that… and every year the same question pops up. Time is magic…
Have a wonderful month of November either way!!! 😀

Holy buckets, you two are quite active bloggers! I am really impressed with all the progress you made with reading, blogging, and watching other forms of media! From a Certain Point of View is high on my TBR list. I can’t wait to see what you think of it, Trang. And I LOVE me some Agatha Christie tales, Lashaan! I hope you enjoy Murder on the Orient Express have you read it before?
October was a fairly quiet month for me when it comes to reading. But, I’m two books away from finishing me Anne of Green Gables series read along! That’s super exciting.

Oh, we do love to blog! 😀 And if there’s anything that attempts to rival our passion for reading, I’d say shows/movies/music. This is actually my first time (finally!!!!) picking up an Agatha Christie book. I’ve always wanted to try one out ever since I first heard of Poirot back in high school too. So far the book is impressive!
I’ve always thought Anne of Green Gables was just one book hahah That’s definitely really awesome though. Hope the series ends on a great note!
Thank you for visiting, Jackie!! It is a pleasure to get to know you. 🙂 Happy reading!

I really enjoy the Poirot novels– I think those mysteries are more intriguing than the Miss Marple ones, even though I like Miss Marple as a character better. There’s something about Poriot’s arrogance which I struggle with as a reader.
Nope! It’s a series of 6-9 books (depending on what sort of canon you believe). I’m doing a Anne of Green Gables series read along this year with Jane @ Greenish Bookshelf. It’s been a ton of fun.
