Once in a while, I like to keep track of what will come out as movies and tv shows in order to read the book before, or even after watching them haha. Or from the books I’ve already read. Here are all the upcoming book to screen adaptations 😀
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
This book has been seating on my bookshelves for way too long LOL and now the movie is already out T_T I must catch up!
Release date: August 3rd, 2018
CHRISTOPHER ROBIN – WINNIE THE POOH by A.A Milne
I will always cherish those childhood stories that I got the chance to grow up with ❤
Release Date: August 3rd, 2018
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Seating in my top books of all time, Fahrenheit 451 is a real dedication to books and so I was super excited when HBO announced they would do a movie based on this classic. The reviews are in and so far it doesn’t look good, but I still want to give it a chance.
Airing on TV : Aug 18, 2018
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
This is the type of book you want to read on on the sunny day at the beach and don’t want to think too much about it, with a great dose of laughter. Crazy Rich Asians depicts a whole new level of Asian world. Singaporean and the most elites asian businessmen are portraying along with the strict cultural and family cultural values.
Release Date: August 15, 2018
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Honestly, I really didn’t like this book LOL but somehow the tv show looks funnier and the main actress is alright too. Lara Jean was very annoying to me in the novel.
Release Date: August 17,2018
First Man by James Hansen
Based on the autobiography First Man by James Hansen,” and on over 50 hours of interviews with the intensely private Armstrong, who also gave Hansen exclusive access to private documents and family sources”.
Release Date: August 29 , 2018
THE LITTLE STRANGER by Sarah Waters
This one I saw the trailer and I was mesmerized by the premise! Can you believe my joy when I found out it’s based on a book? Wooo ❤ Time to add it on my TBR.
Release Date: Aug. 31st, 2018
A DISCOVERY OT WITCHES by Deborah Harkness
I also have this series on my bookshelves and I always tell myself I would get to it whenever I have the time. I guess now it’s a good time ! 😀
The House With A Clock in its Walls by John Bellairs
I always love a bit of fantasy movies here and there ! This looks so fun ! With Cate Blanchette in the casting, it’s a win for me 😀
Release Date: : September 21, 2018
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
One of my most anticipated movie of the year!! I loved the book so dearly and all the messages in it. The trailer looks very good and I hope the movie would not disappoint me.
Release Date: October 19, 2018
Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve
“In a stunning literary debut, Philip Reeve has created a painful dangerous unforgettable adventure story of surprises, set in a dark and utterly original world fueled by Municipal Darwinism — and betrayal”. The novel sounds nice but I’m always skeptical about cyperpunk kind of setting haha. Let’s see what’s it all about!
Release Date:December 18 . 2018
Also, Denis Villeneuve just finished his first draft for Dune adaptation!! I’m SO FRKN EXCITED !
What book adaptation are you most excited about ? 😀
I’m always inserting books into my TBR because their movie adaptations are being released! It seems like the best movies are based on books these days.

When they announce Denis Villeneuve taking on the project I was IN HEAVENN. I mean with all of what he did with Blade Runner and Arrival, I can just hope that he truly understands how to master the art of book to movie adaptation ❤

Honestly there are so many amazing looking book to film adaptations being released, I want to see them all. The Darkest Minds is a great series Trang, I hope you love it and the film as well, and yes the trailer for THUG looks incredible. You just know the film is going to be amazing already right?!
I really want to see Christopher Robin (Winnie-the-Pooh kind of defined my childhood) and A Discovery of Witches looks really good as well so I need to pick up the books at some point too!
Great list. 🙂 ❤

Fahrenheit 451 already aired here some time ago and I have to be honest, it was so terrible. I was not only disappointed but almost angry haha. I wanted my time back. I should have turned it off and walked away (as a huge fan of the book it felt like a slap in the face) but I kept trying to wait for something great to happen.
I do think Christopher Robin and The Hate U Give look incredible! I am excited for them ❤
