This being a netflix only means I won’t be watching it. Prime movies is enough for me and I’m just not willing to pay for another streaming channel for 1 show 😦
I do understand. Ever thought of swapping Prime for Netflix? Or are you a huge consumer of Prime? I do think that the first season would have been well appreciated by you too.
I have thought about it, but we use Prime primarily for the shipping and the video is just bonus. Plus, netflix is more expensive and I don’t watch enough movies or tv to really justify a price increase on our part.
I think you’d both enjoy it a lot in that case! And that’s so cool. I’ve always been curious about the game although I have no clue how it’s played or how hooked I’d be to it! 😀
I very much enjoy Stranger Things (first season definitely more than the second) and look forward to the third season, but the concept of comic book trying to fill in the blanks does not appeal to me. I look at it as a curio 😉
I too did enjoy the first season more than the second, but the series was still pretty good in general. People should pick this comic book only if they are curious indeed hahah
I am also deeply sceptical about releases like this. Given your thoughts, I don’t think I’ll bother with it! Also tbh if it’s not about Eleven or Hopper then I am OUT.
Awesome stuff my friend – I have to confess I’m still yet to start watching Stranger Things but it is on my watchlist and know from what I’ve heard that I’m bound to love it. It’s a shame this tie in doesn’t quite measure up, these things can be hit and miss (I’m just glad it’s pretty much always a ‘hit’ with IDW’s Star Trek comics and same goes for Boom’s Planet of the Apes titles)…I’ve seen some previews and the art seems a bit ‘meh’ which sadly is par for the course with Dark Horse these days.
Thanks, Chris. I’m surprised that you haven’t checked it out yet when you’re usually always up to date with the sci-fi shows out there. 😮 You should definitely binge it all once season 3 comes out now.
And you’re soooo right about the artists over at Dark Horse… I’ve noticed that they’re often ‘meh’ and wondered why it was so… I mean… besides Marvel and DC, I think Image has some of the best artists in the business, but Dark Horse? They have been struggling to deliver something impressive in that department… I remember looking into that God of War (based on their last game) graphic novel and cringed at the artwork…
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to check it out since the first season landed but there’s always been something else in the way – I’m trying to keep the decks clear for Jessica Jones at the moment so reluctant to start anything else right away.
It’s a shame about Dark Horse but naturally the big two seem to nab a lot of the best (more so DC than Marvel), but Image and Boom! have some good artists working for them as well.
Owww Season 1 of Stranger Things was one of my absolute favourite TV show ever (I was very disappointed by season 2 hahaha)! It’s cool to clarify some points of the show but I like the fact that all the “upside down” world remains a mystery! 😝
I didn’t know season 3 was due to july 😱😱
I prefer the 1st too, but I didn’t find the 2nd season that bad hahah I guess they’ll keep on producing books/comics/games for this franchise now since it’s loved by everyone!
Awww yes! I know what I’ll be doing on te 4th of July 😉😏
New season’s promo should be out soon. Are you going to watch the season? I probably will only for the sake of seeing how it ends as I have not read the book.
Why did you end up going alllll the way back in time to track down this review in particular? Hahahah! I’m curious for the upcoming season, especially as these kids grow up and become young adults, but I’m not excited more than necessary for the franchise anymore, with the first season being the best of it all. I am, however, curious to see how it will all come to an end, if it ever will hahah
Well, if you must know, I was reading about the series and wondered what Lashaan had said on that topic and I went searching. Post by post until I found that one.
We luvved season one. Have not seen anymore, though.
I love seeing the kids in comic format!

I had no idea there was a graphic novel. Sorry to hear it was kind of a letdown. I’m really looking forward to the new season. 🙂

Yep. There’s also a novel released as well. Can’t wait to see them kids all grown up and face new threats. 😀

I don’t have Netflix so haven’t watched this but have heard people talking about it. I wouldn’t mind eatching it as my son is a DM for his D&D group.

I might read it just to get that extra info.

I agree. It would probably be the only reason why anyone should pick it up. 😛

Hahahaha yes! There’s a novel about Eleven’s mother too. But a book/comic book on Eleven or Hopper would indeed be interesting! 😀

All kidding aside, I used the ?random raiders! tool just for the heck of it. I like exploring content I might have previously missed. (https://dailyflabbergast.wordpress.com/2021/11/18/random-raiders/ in case you forgot what it’s about)
