Sequels I Need To Catch Up On

I don’t know about you guys but I always have a hard time managing what series to keep track or what sequels should I read. Here’s a little list of sequels coming out this fall so I can remind myself to catch up on those series before it’s too late 😉

I’ve been waiting for this series for a long time and when it finally came out, I haven’t been able to read it since. Isn’t it ironic? City of Brass had the vibe of Strange The Dreamer and that’s the main reason why I loved it.

DARK AGE by PIERCE BROWN

The 5th installment of Red Rising series, a series which I have to absolutely catch up on because it’s been on my shelves for way too long.

I’ve been obsessed with this series, The Three-Body Problem has got to be one of my favourite novels of all time and I was so happy to learn that an extended ending coming out this summer. Fun fact : it’s been written by a fan, but the author finds it so good that he has approved the publication.

Whether you like William Gibson or not, I’m still curious about this new series that debuted in 2014.  It was his first novel since 2010’s Zero History and now the sequel is coming out this fall.

Children of Virtue and Vengeance, by Tomi Adeyemi (June 2019)

Last but not least, Children of Blood And Bone was one of my favourite reads of all times, no surprise there that I had to add this sequel onto the list.

Have you read any of the sequels of the list? 🙂 What would you add?

  • I have trouble reading just one book these days, let alone any sequels lol. To be honest though I’m in the middle of a science fiction epic that spans 54 parts at the moment (and yes that means 54 books lol). These all look great though, but sadly I haven’t read any of these (well…not yet anyway! 😊

  • I only read the first book of Red Rising but I’m forcing myself to catch up because of Dark Age! I also want to read City of Brass and Kingdom of Copper before the third book comes out! I still need to read Nevernight too! There’s so many series that I haven’t caught up on honestly. I ended up falling behind.

  • The Kingdom of Copper is even better than The City of Brass! So damn good.
I also need to read Iron Gold, though I don’t remember the original trilogy at all. Maybe a reread is in order.

  • This is why I now wait for a trilogy/series to be finished before diving in. I can’t be bothered to remember every time a new installment comes out 🙂

  • I recently read The Redemption of Time! Honestly, while it’s definitely a cool addition to the universe, I’ll admit I found the plot as a whole a bit lacking. I think you’ll definitely find it interesting, but don’t expect it to feel the same as Three Body in terms of pacing, characterization, or “urgency.” It’s hard to establish the same sense of peril as existed in Three Body when you already generally know how it will end. The multiple POV sections also didn’t work super well. That all said, learning more about the Tri-Solarans was really neat and by far my favorite part of the novel!

  • I received Dark Age in the mail the other day and was a bit scared because of the size. I just set it on my shelf and told myself I will get to it soon… you should read Kingdom of Copper it was amazing 😀

  • I am terrible for starting a series and not finishing it. I am so behind on the Red Rising series. I read the first two books, but the end of Golden Son was so harrowing that I couldn’t find it in my to start it. I am determined to finish the series though, even if I have to start from the start again.
