I found that The Child Finder was truly an engrossing and atmospheric novel with some of the best prose ever. I wonder if this sequel will be just as good! Out on October 1st 2019!

I’ve always been curious to find out what it would be like if she wrote an adult fantasy novel and I’m curious to see what everyone will think of her latest novel. Out on October 8th 2019!

By far my most anticipated release this month! An epic 1000 page sequel to savour! Out on October 22nd 2019

COMIC BOOK RELEASES

Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity #1
A story centered around Joker and Harley? It has been a while I haven’t seen this tackled! This time it’s writer Kami Garcia with art by Mico Suayan and Mike Mayhew! Issue #1 comes out on October 9th!
Batman / Superman #3
Writer Joshua Williamson and artist David Marquez continue with this sequel to the Batman Who Laughs! Looking forward to this Batman/Superman mini-series to get wrapped up! Issue #3 is out on October 23rd!
Joker: Killer Smile #1
Jeff Lemire teaming up with Andrea Sorrentino for a psychological horror story with Joker? Count me in. Issue #1 comes out on October 30th!

TV SHOW RELEASES

I’m a bit skeptical about this show but I’m a sucker for anything that’s related to Gotham and will probably see for myself if it’s any good!

The first episode premieres on October 6th!

The fourth and final season of this mind-blowing series is just around the corner and I hope it’ll give fans the finale we all want!

The first episode of season 4 will premiere on October 6th!

While the fanbase has roared their unease about a TV series based on the masterpiece by Alan Moore, especially with a pretty good movie that did the job, I’m excited to see how this HBO series will turn out!

The first episode premieres on October 20th!

MOVIE RELEASES

By far the one DC movie I have been waiting for all year is now just a couple of days from release. You can expect me to see it at least 10 times in theatres. Maybe three times at the premiere too? ๐Ÿ™‚

Out on October 4th!

My favourite TV series of all time now gets a movie sequel for me to squeal and love about. I sure ain’t going to miss out on this one! Can you tell how much I love this month????

Out on October 11th!

10 years after the fun zombie movie by director Ruben Fleischer comes the surprise sequel! Will it dominate or flop the box office? To be determined.

Out on October 11th!

PERSONAL LIFE

I think October is the month where all the pieces smoothly settle into their slots and the machine starts to run at a steady pace with no issues. There’s a lot of super exciting shows and movies that I have been waiting for such a long finally coming out and they are spread out quite perfectly throughout the month, making me want to work hard and then get rewarded at the end of each week! Even reading-wise I feel like I got some really great books queued up and it’ll only be a question of time-management if I want to get through everything I want to do.

I also have a three-day seminar outside of my city, a couple hours drive from home, to attend this work-related event at the National Police Academy and look forward to meeting a bunch of fantastic folks who work hard every day to prevent crime. I think I can safely say that October is shaping up to be a fun month!

    • You absolutely should try all three authors! The first book by Anna Smith Spark was a bit tougher for me to appreciate since the style was really different from your usual fantasy book but then the second book really confirmed that her style can work as she refines it. ๐Ÿ˜€ Otherwise, both Weeks and French’s books are AMAZING! I wholeheartedly recommend them! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Thanks for the reminder about the Burning White. I just went and pre-ordered it. I cannot wait for that to drop. I’m seriously considering dropping everything else I’ll be reading at that time and burning through it. I haven’t been that impulsive for quite some time, so we’ll see.

I’ve seen Mr Robot offered on Prime. What is the premise? Some wanker in a hoody doesn’t do much to inspire me to check it out ๐Ÿ˜€

Best of luck with getting all the pieces to fit together. It is nice when it happens, isn’t it?

    • It actually makes me quite happy to hear about how excited you are about a new release. What a rare sight hahahah I look forward to your enthusiastic review of it when the time comes! ๐Ÿ˜€

Mr. Robot is about a hacker with some serious mental health issue who is invited to join an underground organization. The show follows him around as you discover what his special talents allow him to do while making him sort of unreliable as a protagonist because of his mental health issues.

Absolutely. I do hope your algebra-filled life hasn’t been too harsh on your psyche lately, sir. I hope you’ll have a great month of October too!

      • It has definitely been a while since I was excited about a new release. One of the downfalls of my reading rotation schedule I guess.

Thanks for the info about Mr Robot. I’ll have to check it out sometime and see if it appeals.

  • I feel like there is so much great stuff going on this month too! I would love to read Ninth House but I know I won’t have time. I hope you get to do everything you have planned:-)

    • You haaaaaaave to give The Grey Bastards a try. It was such a fantastic debut novel and it’ll probably end up being another incredible debut trilogy for me! I’ll look forward to the day you finally dive into it, Maddalena! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Sounds like a fun month! Thereโ€™s a lot of movies coming out that look good, thereโ€™s been a bit of a dry spell in my opinion… though I did see Ad Alta which was quite worthwhile and interesting in my opinion.
This month Iโ€™ve got some fun entertainment articles lined up to write for a client. Iโ€™m excited! This month also features my birthday. Woot! ๐Ÿฅณ

    • I have been meaning to try Ad Astra but figured it might be something I should try once it comes out on Netflix or something hahah It does sound like a wonderful cinematic experience though.

That sounds like a lot of fun! What exactly do you do for a living to have to write entertainment articles? Journalism? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Happy Birthday in advance in that case! Hope October will have plenty of treat for you, Steph! ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Fair enough! Itโ€™s definitely not a typical space action movie. It centred more on the character relationships and development as opposed to the action. There was some nice camera shots though which is always good haha!

Iโ€™m a freelance writer ๐Ÿ˜ itโ€™s a lot of fun. I write some blog posts and other content for businesses. Iโ€™m transitioning from my nine-to-five job (as a dispensary assistant) to doing writing full time. Itโ€™s challenging but great!

  • The cover of “The Burning White” definitely grabbed my attention with the monochrome vs. color.
The comics all sound like they will be full of mischief and edgy content. Exciting.
I’m curious to read your “Joker” review. I’ve already read one that mostly glorified the movie. The trailer did not buy me, though. So I will probably wait to hear from you and THEN re-evaluate my decision.

    • Yep. All the covers play with the colours and it makes for an awesome collection to have.

Yep. I probably purposely pick those over the more bubbly and colourful ones too though. Lots of comics out there being released throughout the month that I either don’t or can’t get to. ๐Ÿ˜›

So far I’m super excited about it and super sold by the idea of an “Elseworlds” type of story for Joker where we get a stand-alone movie giving him one of countless possible origin stories. To have Joaquin Phoenix, a fantastic actor, give it a try has me curious and excited to. Not sure exactly if I’ll review it as soon as I see it or wait a little for more people to see it before tackling it but I’m sure to share my thoughts on it at some point. I appreciate that you value my thoughts on it though. Makes me feel all warm and tingly inside hahah

I completely forgot about Watchmen! Thanks for the reminder ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have fun at your seminar!

      • YESSS PLEASE DOO!! I am so excited to read your review about it!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ you ARE gonna review it though, right?
For me, October/November is LOTR and Hobbit reread and rewatch months! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I donโ€™t know but something about the vibe, something in the air that makes me wanna seek the company of Aragon and Bilbo and Gandalf! I JUST LOOVE THEM TOO MUCH! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
And my favorite from The Hobbit, apart from Bilbo and Thorin, is SMAUGG! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ THAT DRAGON! I LOVE HIM! ๐Ÿ˜

I am sorry you must be wondering what the fuck I am going on about but itโ€™s just when it comes to this series, I cannot always control my feelings! Hahahahah!! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  • A great list of anticipations Lashaan (coincidentally my Joker review is up and look forward to hearing your thoughts on the film!), curious to see what you think of Batwoman, I honestly don’t think I’m going to be able to fit it in although I do plan to check out the Crisis crossover – I honestly wonder how they’re going to pull it off, the amount of cameos appearances the CW has put together is insane but intriguing.

I WILL however be checking out Watchmen as it’s just been announce for U.K. broadcast on October 2st! I also look forward to your eventual reviews of Joker/Harley and Batman/Superman. Will you be picking up Doomsday Clock Part One? Or will you wait for the complete edition that’ll no doubt follow?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, and I just launched my… huge… review for Joker. Might have gone slightly overboard but I had to write it all down somewhere! ๐Ÿ˜€ Maaaan, I’m with you for Batwoman. I’m conflicted about it but I’ll try to squeeze it in and see if the first episodes succeed in keeping my attention or if it’ll have to much SJW stuff…

Oh, you will have to let me know what you think of Watchmen in that case! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ And yes, I’ve been collecting the single issues for Doomsday Clock and am just waiting for the collected edition to come out before reading and reviewing it hahah A bit sad that they are split into two volumes but I guess, if they follow their usual pattern, they’ll one day release an oversized collected edition to make more money hahah

      • I’ve just checked your review out, it’s wonderfully insightful and your passion for the film shines through – and there’s nothing wrong with that at all, it makes for a great, engaging read!

I do wish Batwoman could have been a DC Universe series – I feel the CW approach isn’t going to give us the best possible version of that character on-screen.

Look forward to your thoughts on the first part of Doomsday Clock!

  • I hope your work get together goes well Lashaan! It’s always nice to meet face to face people you only get to meet on the phone. The Hobbit I understand is the best!! I haven’t read it but my writing partner did and she loved it. Much better paced than the series. I hope you enjoy it. And so many great sequels coming out. I recognize all the names due to your posts!! And a Zombieland sequel?! Hahahha I didn’t realize Woody H had such incredible eye color. (Sorry random thought!) ๐Ÿ˜‰
