Celebrating Pride Month : My Faves Books Exploring LGBTQ+

Hi guys! I wanted to celebrate the Pride Month by sharing my top books exploring LGBTQ+ characters 🙂 Hope you enjoy!

The Heart’s Invisble Furies : This book will always be and stay one of my favourite reads of all times.

Cyril Avery is not a real Avery or at least that’s what his adoptive parents tell him. And he never will be. But if he isn’t a real Avery, then who is he?

In this, Boyne’s most transcendent work to date, we are shown the story of Ireland from the 1940s to today through the eyes of one ordinary man. The Heart’s Invisible Furies is a novel to make you laugh and cry while reminding us all of the redemptive power of the human spirit.

are you listening? : Bea and Lou must trust each other as they are driven to confront buried truths. The two women share their stories of loss and heartbreak—and a startling revelation about sexual assault—culminating in an exquisite example of human connection.

Girl, Woman, Other : Teeming with life and crackling with energy — a love song to modern Britain and black womanhood. Joyfully polyphonic and vibrantly contemporary, this is a gloriously new kind of history, a novel of our times: celebratory, ever-dynamic and utterly irresistible.

How We Fight For Our Lives : Haunted and haunting, Jones’s memoir tells the story of a young, black, gay man from the South as he fights to carve out a place for himself, within his family, within his country, within his own hopes, desires, and fears.

Have you heard or read these books? What do you think of them? 🙂

I just want to take some time in this post to say Happy Pride Month and that everyone should have the right to feel love no matter what, with whoever they want to be and everyone should be able to identify with selves that they are most comfortable with :3
