Fab reviews Lashaan! Too bad those Stranger Things books weren’t so good but at least the other ones were much better! Did you know the cast are playing D&D on YouTube over the holidays?
I’ve only ever tried the comics so far but I know there are books out there too that seem somewhat decent. Maybe I’ll give those a try in the future! I have heard about that D&D project! Pretty cool hahah I’m really curious to see how much of a growth spurt they’ll get as they film season 4 too now hahaha Have you gotten around to catching up on the whole series so far?! 😀
I thought it was a decent continuation that continues to explore the same themes on top of new ones (those you expect when those kids reach a certain age). I know some people find it weaker than the first one (my girlfriend, for one, didn’t like it because of the new character introduced in it hahaah)!
That’s an excellent way to steer clear from having to add any more stories than we’d want to explore right now! 😉 Then again, these stories, except maybe those directly spun from Stranger Things, are still fun post-apocalyptic kids vs. monsters stories for those who are interested in that. 🙂
These were all new to me. And though I’ve heard of Stranger Things I’ve never seen it, though I suspect I’d likely enjoy it. I did add Something is Killing the Children to my TBR. Looks interesting. And I like that cover for Gung Ho, nicely designed.
I think you’d have a nostalgic and fun time with Stranger Things, at least season 1, too, Todd! I’m glad to hear your interest in Something is Killing the Children though! I find that that creator-owned series has a lot of potential. I can’t wait for volume 2 to get collected soon. I agree with Gung Ho! It’s what caught my attention in the first place too! 😀
I can’t say I have and I wonder how I would experience digital comics. I am so used to Spirou, our comics magazine in Belgium or just plan “paper” comics! But some of the above seem really great for children!
I will always prefer paper books/comics but also acknowledge how accessible, cheap, and wonderful digital books/comics can be too! Hope you get to try some out someday in your life, Sophie! 😀
I like stranger Things season 1 and 2 but stopped watching 3rd one. Looks like books are not even close to series. Something is killing the children sounds interesting. Great reviews!
The comics are definitely not on par with the TV series but I still have to try the books out to know if they’re worth it. Something is Killing the Children is definitely an excellent beginning for this series! Thanks for reading, as always, Yesha! 😀
That’s a bunch in one go. I’ve considered checking out those Stranger Things comics, but I’m not sure yet if I’ll go for it. But Something Is Killing the Children sounds interesting to me. I might check that out.
I haven’t had much success with any of the currently released comics but it wouldn’t hurt for anyone to explore them for the fun of it. 😀 Glad to hear your interest in Something is Killing the Children though! It’s very promising! 😀
Oooh, Something Is Killing the Children sounds like my kind of read! 😀 I’m really liking that cover art. I just went and added it to my TBR list.
Great mini reviews! 😀

We finished the first series and we’re not too sure if we’re going to watch the series 2 yet. Was it any good?

I haven’t watched Stranger Things, so thankfully I’m not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms 🙂

For me, it’s more a defense mechanism so my TBR doesn’t become one of those monsters that everyone talks about 😀
