Glad to read you had such a good time with this. 4 star books, while not as rare as the 5’s, certainly aren’t the majority and I’ve learned to appreciate them when they come along.

Hahaha what had you in such a positive mood?! Where’s the real Bookstooge who’d point out how big and nasty that empty last star actually is! 😛

I had taken the day off yesterday because of the windchills (down to -17c yesterday) so I was sitting nice and warm and happy on my couch all day!

Seeing the series continue to deliver has me wanting to read The Bone Ships even more to see what I might be missing. And I haven’t read too many books set on ships, so that also has me interested. How much of the story thus far has actually been on ship?

Pretty much a lot of it hahaha I haven’t read a lot of stories that stick to a sea setting but there aren’t a lot of pirate stories out there either. I do think you’d find this trilogy quite intriguing so I hope you’ll get to at least try the first book someday, Todd! 😀

I still have the review for this to write… I enjoyed this installment similarly to you, Lashaan – solid 4 stars. But I felt the first one was better – so imaginative! 😉 Great review!

Definitely agree. The first one introduced something unmatched but it was clear that the intention here was to steer the boat in another direction and try something different! Thanks for reading, Ola. Looking forward to your own thoughts on this one! 😉

This is a beautiful review. I love books that immerse you so much in a different life – leave you wanting to start a new life at sea, haha. I also love that the balance of the character development and the amazing-sounding plot is there – authors don’t always manage to pull of both with equal intensity and authenticity.

Absolutely! I do love fantasy worlds that so fully-fleshed out, where you can actually imagine without much effort what it looks! Thanks for reading, Lydia! 😀

What a wonderful review! A perfect, delightful opportunity to revisit one of the best books I read last year: I absolutely agree with you when you say that it’s difficult to come up for air while immersed in this kind of story, which remains with you long after you’ve closed the book…
Thanks for sharing! 🙂

This sounds intense and adventurous. It’s great it had right balance between character, being on sea and mystery. Amazing review!

Aw shucks, at least there are so many stand-alone novels for you to pick up and adore out there! Thanks for reading this though! 😀
