  • Umm thanks but no 😉. I’m so glad you’re here to read these mediocre comics for us, Lashaan, and deliver your thoughtful, precise reviews to us! This way we can only read your reviews instead of the comics and commiserate with you! 😁

    • Hahah thanks for reading, Ola! Glad to spare you the trouble. 😀 I can’t imagine Peter J. Tomasi doing anything that could change the quality of what he’s delivering anytime soon but at least Tynion’s Batman has been fun so far! 🙂

  • Man, I know how much you like Batman so I always hate seeing you slog through stories that completely disappoint you (though I’m sure not nearly as much as you hate it!).

    • When it comes to Peter J. Tomasi’s Detective Comics run, my expectations have been low for a while now. I’m just shocked that it can keep on going like this instead of putting in more energy to give us something more… worthwhile.

  • Dang it. I hate this didn’t work better for you. Thanks for sharing Lashaan. I bet you got stacks of comic books all over, huh? Ever think about getting rid of any of them or are you collecting for keeps?

    • At this point, I’m not too shocked that it isn’t getting any better. I’m just hoping things will get better sooner rather than later!

I haven’t yet contemplated the idea of getting rid of anything. I’m mostly building my collection as a heritage. I’m sure in the near future I’ll get rid of some comics that I know aren’t worth keeping around though.

    • Hahah I saw that one of the recent issues had SOME Jorge Jimenez artwork but it doesn’t seem like he’s sticking around. 😦 With the next story arc titled “Joker War Aftermath” (at least for now), I’m not toooooooo hopeful that it’ll be any different than what this had to offer but if you those Joker War tie-in you speak of are those collected in the next volume, I’ll remain optimistic. I just want to see Peter J. Tomasi do a story arc without being too affected by the ongoing Batman run. He seems to need more… space… to give us something good.

  • Do you feel more annoyed when you get a disappointing Batman piece (since you have a strong affinity to Batman) than anything else? Do you feel like this great character deserves more?

(Side note: Your fist sentence seems incomplete.)

    • In my earlier comic book reading days, yes. But once I understood the market and the character’s history, I knew, for a while now, that there are WAY more stories featuring top-tier heroes than other heroes and it is inevitable that some writers/artists give us mediocre, boring stories. Since then, it has become my duty to go through all of them (probably not ALL of them) to find the good ones and enjoy the heck out of those. 😀

Thanks, I think I fixed it now, or maybe I’m making some kind of French-to-English syntax mistake hahah
