Netflix and Marvel have been pouring out superhero shows for quite some time now. Every character introduced added a whole new story that hinted to a bigger and unknown enemy that would emerge from its darkness when the time will come. Just like the Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Justice League in the DC Extended Universe or the Legends of Tomorrow in the DC TV shows, these Netflix shows have been preparing fans for the arrival of the Defenders, a neighbourhood-level team of superheroes built around the four heroes that have so far gotten their first seasons out on Netflix: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Captain America: Civil War- Comics VS Movie

Captain America: Civil War the Movie – 5 stars

I FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE. I may also be biased since I’m a Marvel Fan, but Lashaan (DC biggest fan) also gave it a 90% so that’s something right? 😉

fas  Having watched Captain America The Winter Soldier, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, I can confirm that IT WOULD HELP if you watched these movies before this one haha. I haven’t watched any Iron Man movies but I was still familiar with the characters and storylines in the movie so.. I guess you don’t have to watch them, but it can definitely help.  Continue reading

Daredevil: Devil at Bay vol.1 by Mark Waid

Vol .1 Devil at Bay : ★★★ 1/2 ☆

Once again, I don’t own the trade paperback since I prefer collecting the comics issues. But for those of you who prefer reading it at once, I recommend you to go for the volume 1, which collects #0.5, #1, #1.5, #2, #3, #4 and #5.

First, this series of Daredevil started in 2014, a title from the new campaign Marvel NOW! For those of you who don’t know, Marvel NOW is a project to reboot all ”the biggest names and greatest characters in comics”, you can find more information about it here. In short, Marvel NOW is to Marvel’s what the New 52 is to DC comics.

Marvels by Kurt Masiek

MARVELS: ★★★★☆

I’ve always told people that I’m a huge Marvel fan only because I love X-Men. Since I was a child, I’ve been reading X-Men comics and watching the cartoon. But as I grew up, I realized that I knew nothing about other Marvel superheroes except the ones mentioned in X-Men. This is why I started to look around on where to begin Marvel comics. Comics are a large world. You can’t possibly read every single comic out there. That’s why to enjoy it, you have to inform yourself and get a basic knowledge on where to start. I searched about some Marvel essentials and a lot of people recommended Marvels.

Ultimate Xmen Vol 1 + Vol. 2 : The Tomorrow People and the Return of Weapon X By Mark Millard

Ultimate Xmen : The Tomorrow People & The Return of Weapon X ( Trade Paperback) – ★★★★☆

This is the first time that I’m reviewing a comics series so I really don’t know where to begin with. I’m going to start off by telling you that I didn’t get the actual trade paperback but the issues instead ( yes I like collecting them haha). I got the #1 to #12 which is the equivalent Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the trade paperback. Continue reading
